How to stay safe in an unsafe world?

I had the immense pleasure to direct a 4-day development workshop of Breakfalls prior to its production at Vermont Stage in 2024. My role was to support Gina as the writer and to create an environment where play and physicality spark discoveries about the heart of the play and the bold structural shapes it might take.

We spent several days on our feet in a karate dojo playing with iterations of the text and embodying deep relationships as characters in the fiction and as working creatives.

An embodied reading of Breakfalls was hosted at The Hive in Burlington.
