Future Cathedral

A PLAY ACROSS MULTIPLE TIMESCALES, inspired and adapted from Robert Macfarlane’s Underland.

An interdisciplinary contest between scientific innovation, academic hubris, and the exponential function.

A GRIEVING PROFESSOR, A CAVE DIVER WITH A DEATH WISH, A POLITICAL SCIENCE STUDENT, AND TWO CLOWNS AT THE END OF THE WORLD CARETAKING THE LAST BLOCK OF ICE.

Future Cathedral maps the edges of poetic realism and zany clown to explore how the search for beauty and power contributes to a violently untenable relationship and disrupted legacy between humans and the place we call home.
