The Field Project was an immersive and collaborative experience devised over three months with 30 teenagers during the second spring of the pandemic.

The Future Tactics Collective, a Cross-Generational Council, was derived from the company's need to create a healing space through live performance. Each audience member became an active participant in the creation of the whole piece, and subsequently, all involved became members of the collective.

The project examines and makes us complicit in the legacies of history & pop culture within the framework of ecology, restorative practice, and memory.

In the course of 13 1/2 hours over 5 days, the Future Tactics Collective hosted and communed with hundreds of community members from Essex and its surrounding towns in one-to-one conversations with the goal to “Grow the Future.”

We are what we construct.

“Every once in a while I witness a piece of theater that leaves me transported...this was one. A spell is cast; when the applause fades, I am still under its power.”

— SO, audience member

“You found ways to offer voice & agency in an impossibly challenging season. In turn, you offered us rare moments of true human connection after more than a year of isolation. Such important, life-saving work.”

— SL, audience member
