Northward Spins the Needle

AN ADAPTATION OF EAST OF THE SUN, WEST OF THE MOON

A promenade pageant with audience participation.

HOW FAR MIGHT YOU GO…FOR LOVE…FOR THE PROMISE TO BECOME FREE?

Journey north to where the uses of magic are unveiled in a storied landscape,
where enchantment is currency,
and the natural world draws the map for revelations.

…The bear said to her, “Hold tight by my shaggy coat, and then there’s nothing to fear.”

Borderlands is an annual site-specific performance performed by a collection of young and adult performers. This inter-generational project explores the power of storytelling in natural environments and focuses on re-imagining fairy and folk tales.

Produced by Treewild, an environmentally focused education program, and takes place at Shelburne Farms, a 1,400-acre working farm and educational non-profit.
